Insulating oil closed flash point test
When the oil is heated under certain conditions, it undergoes decomposition and continuously releases combustible gases. The amount of these gases increases with the rise in temperature. When the oil is heated to a certain temperature, combustible gases form on the oil surface and mix with the surrounding air to form a mixture. When in contact with an open flame, a flash occurs and then immediately extinguishes. The temperature at this point is called the flash point of the oil.
Experimental Preparation: Before the experiment, thoroughly clean and dry the sample cups.
Experimental steps:
Turn on the power supply, then press the “Confirm” button to set the sample number, pre-flash value, air pressure, printer connection method, standard, and detection function.
2. Select the function. Press the start button to lift the cup cover. Remove the oil cup and slowly pour the sample into the sample cup until it reaches the scale line. Then press the “lower” button to close the cup cover.
3. Press the “.” key to change the “Detection Function” in the parameter table to “Detection Sample”.
4. After pressing the “Start” button, the ignition is triggered and the closed-mouth flash point tester begins to automatically measure the oil sample.
After the test is completed, press the “Start” button and the closed-mouth flash point tester will begin to print.
6. After the printing process is completed, the instrument automatically rises, and the oil sample is poured out. Then, the next round of testing begins.
7. Use the arithmetic mean of the two measurement results as the flash point value of the sample.
Test Precautions:
The flame should be adjusted to 3-4 mm.
2. During the operation of the closed-mouth flash point tester, there must be a dedicated person on duty.
3. After the experiment is completed, make sure to close the gas valve and cut off the power supply to prevent any accidents.
The flash point exceeds the limit value by less than 130℃. Or it has decreased by 5℃ compared to the previous test result. The possible reasons are two: there is a local overheating fault in the equipment; the oil has been wrongly replaced.
In case the flash point exceeds the limit value, the following countermeasures can be taken:
Identify the cause and eliminate the fault. Perform vacuum degassing treatment or carry out oil replacement.
