In the new century, the power industry is faced with both opportunities and challenges. The key issue is how to enhance the safety index of power work. The insulation resistance tester, as a safety inspection device for testing whether electrical equipment is insulated or has faults, it is very necessary for users to learn how to use the insulation resistance tester correctly.
I. Before using the insulation resistance tester. For a new insulation resistance tester, before opening and using it, it needs to be charged. The charging time should not be less than 6 hours. Charging before use can not only protect the insulation resistance tester from being damaged due to large currents caused by usage when it is operating with only a weak electric current, but also ensure the normal operation of the insulation resistance tester and the accuracy of the measurements.
II. When using the insulation resistance tester:
1. When starting to use the insulation resistance tester, press the power switch, and the indicator light of the insulation resistance tester switch will light up.
2. After the power indicator light turns on, the insulation resistance tester conducts its own overall self-check. At this time, the display screen of the resistance tester will show the operation guide, and follow the instructions to perform the next operation.
3. Press the “Voltage Selection Key” to select the required voltage.
4. Press the “Test Key” to start the test. Once the test starts, the display light representing the high-voltage state will light up, and there will be a one-second beeping sound. The beeping sound will continuously and stably sound, indicating that there is high-voltage input at the front end of the insulation resistance tester.
III. After using the insulation resistance tester. Once the test is completed, the display screen of the insulation resistance tester will show the test results. If you want to conduct another test, you can press the “test key” again. At this time, the instrument of the insulation resistance tester will stop the output of the front-end high voltage and will automatically calculate again and display the test results.
Whether one is familiar with the operation of the insulation resistance tester or not, carefulness, patience and concentration are all necessary when using it. Only when every step of using the insulation resistance tester is accurate and the tester is properly maintained and stored after use, can the characteristics of the insulation resistance tester be fully utilized to better carry out power detection work, providing an additional guarantee for the safety of the power industry.
