Operating Instructions for the Fully Automatic Insulating Boot (Glove) Voltage Withstand Test Equipment

In order to verify or determine the insulation performance of insulating boots, insulating gloves and insulating safety equipment, we can conduct a simple insulation withstand voltage test on the insulating boots and insulating gloves to assess the withstand voltage capacity of the boots and gloves. Here, we can utilize the fully automatic insulating boots (gloves) withstand voltage test device produced by Wuhan HVHIPOT
The fully automatic insulating boot (glove) withstand voltage test device is composed of a specially designed dedicated test water tank, an intelligent power frequency withstand voltage control console, and a power frequency withstand voltage test transformer. The special water tank can be customized in quantity as needed. It can conduct withstand voltage tests on 6 to 8 insulating boots or 6 insulating gloves at once, and simultaneously display the leakage current of the insulating boots or insulating gloves. So before conducting the withstand voltage test, there are still some matters that need attention. Let’s take a look together.
1. During the testing process of the fully automatic insulating boots (gloves) withstand voltage test device, the operator should maintain a safe distance (less than 20KV per meter of air). The power frequency withstand voltage test bench and the operation box must be grounded, and the grounding resistance should be less than 0.1Ω.
2. The insulation resistance of the transformer should be tested before use. The input-to-ground insulation resistance should be greater than 2Ω, and the output-to-ground insulation resistance should be greater than 10Ω.

3. Before use, it is necessary to check whether the contacts of the electrical components are loose, whether they are in good condition, and whether the protection system is functioning properly.
4. Before use, clean the insulation support, electrode rods, water tank and other parts with alcohol.
5. After the test is completed, the accumulated water should be drained. Each part should be wiped with a dry cotton cloth. If it is to be used for a long time, it should be stored in a dry and ventilated place.
6. The working and storage areas must not be exposed to any other explosive or corrosive substances that could seriously affect insulation, such as gases, vapors, chemical dusts, etc.
7. The high-voltage withstand test must be carried out by professionals and in strict accordance with the operating procedures.
8. During the test, if the leakage current exceeds the specified value or the test material is broken down, the operation box will automatically take protective action. The power supply output will be automatically cut off, and the fully automatic insulating boots (gloves) withstand voltage test device will automatically return to zero. If the leakage current exceeds the standard or the corresponding flashover indication value of the insulating boots (gloves), there will be an alarm. Remove the insulating boots (gloves) with excessive leakage current or those that are disconnected, and then repeat the above operation method.
During the testing process, if the test voltage rises or drops due to fluctuations in power, the “Confirm” key can be pressed to increase the voltage, or the “Select” key can be pressed to decrease the voltage. When using the fully automatic insulating boots (gloves) withstand voltage test device, there are still many issues that need attention. Electrical test and testing workers should make judgments based on the actual situation and use the equipment strictly in accordance with the requirements of the manual.
