Precautions for On-Site Transformer Turns Ratio Tester Testing

Precautions for On-Site Transformer Turns Ratio Tester Testing

Test Precautions
The overcurrent fuse is rated at 0.5A. If the test leads are short-circuited or the high and low voltage connections are reversed, the fuse will blow. When the fuse blows, the internal buzzer of the instrument will sound an alarm. Please turn off the device, replace the fuse with one of the same capacity, and restart the test.
2. Ensure good contact for all connections. The instrument should be properly grounded.
3. The working area for the transformer turns ratio tester should be kept away from strong electric fields, strong magnetic fields, and high-frequency equipment. The power supply interference should be as low as possible; it is preferable to use lighting circuits. If the power interference remains significant, an AC purified power source can be used to supply power to the instrument. The capacity of the AC purified power source should be greater than 200 VA.
4. If the LCD display becomes scrambled, all buttons fail to respond, or the measured values differ significantly from the actual values during operation of the transformer turns ratio tester, press the reset button or turn off the power and restart the operation.

5. If the display shows no characters or appears very faint, adjust the brightness potentiometer to an appropriate position.
6. The transformer turns ratio tester should be stored in a dry and well-ventilated place. If it is not used for a long time or the environment is humid, extend the preheating time before use to remove moisture.
7. Used for communication port debugging.
Common troubleshooting methods for general faults
1. Display disorder: Pressing the reset button usually resolves the issue; otherwise, turn off the device for 8 seconds and then power it back on.
2. If the display shows “Measuring, please wait…” and no result appears after 20 seconds, please follow the instructions of our company’s technical personnel to operate and resolve the issue.
3. The device does not respond at all when powered on, and the built-in power switch indicator light does not illuminate; replacing the 2A fuse inside the power socket will resolve the issue.
4. Measurement results do not match the actual values or display errors:
① Check if the wiring is correct. ② Check if the test leads are damaged.
5. Self-check: Keep the wiring method on the transformer turns ratio tester unchanged, short-circuit the test clips of the same color on the high-voltage and low-voltage test leads respectively, select the “YY” connection method, and perform multiple measurements. If each result is 1.0000, the self-check is normal.
6. If the fault cannot be resolved using the above method, please return the instrument to our company for factory inspection and repair.
