Safety Test Precautions for Series Resonance Test Equipment Used in Substations

The dedicated series resonance test device for substations is mainly designed and manufactured for the planning of AC withstand voltage tests for primary electrical equipment of substations with a voltage of 220kV and below. It can meet the AC withstand voltage tests and tests for capacitive equipment such as transformers, GIS systems, SF6 switches, cables, and bushings according to relevant regulations.

The dedicated variable frequency series resonance test device for substations can not only meet the requirements of high-voltage and low-current equipment withstand voltage tests, but also those of low-voltage and high-current equipment. It has a relatively wide range of applications and is an ideal AC withstand voltage test device for high-voltage experiments at the county, city, and prefectural levels, as well as for power installation, repair, and testing engineering units.

The series resonance test device for substations is a necessary test device for AC withstand voltage experiments of electrical equipment. During the test process, the following safety matters need to be particularly noted:

1. The wiring connection of the test device must be accurate and reliable. High-voltage equipment should ensure effective safety intervals. Before powering on, all safety checks should be completed before starting the test.
2. Both the tested items and the test equipment should be properly grounded. All insulators of the device must have sufficient insulation and mechanical strength.
3. The AC withstand voltage test should be carried out cautiously only after other test items have been completed and there are no insulation defects or doubts. If other test items have been completed and it is found that the test equipment has insulation defects or doubts, the AC withstand voltage test should not be started rashly to prevent unnecessary damage to the equipment. Before and after the AC withstand voltage test, the insulation resistance of the equipment should be measured.
4. The surface of the tested item should be clean and dry. The placement condition should comply with the actual usage situation. For oil-filled equipment, the insulation oil should be basically in a stopped state before applying voltage for the test.
5. Before closing the switch, check if the voltage regulating transformer is at zero position. During the process of raising and lowering voltage, monitor the relevant indicators; during the voltage application process, closely monitor the high-voltage circuit and listen for any sounds from the tested item.
6. The rising speed of the voltage regulating transformer for porcelain insulation and switch-type equipment, etc., can be left unregulated; but for large equipment such as transformers and generators, before the test voltage reaches 40%, it can be a normal test, and the rising speed beyond this voltage should be uniform, approximately 25% per second of the test voltage.
7. The test circuit should have appropriate protective facilities. If abnormal situations occur during the test process, immediately reduce the voltage, then disconnect the power supply, hang the grounding wire, and conduct a check before proceeding with the test.
8. The AC withstand voltage test time is generally 1 minute; for insulating rods, live working equipment, and isolated organic insulating materials, it should be 5 minutes. After disconnecting the power supply, it is necessary to immediately ground the equipment to ensure safety and then check the tested item to see if there is any heating.

The purpose of the series resonance test device for AC withstand voltage tests is to ensure the safe operation of the power system and equipment, and to avoid the occurrence of power faults and accidents. In the actual AC withstand voltage test process, attention should also be paid to the safety of the test process to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the test. Reliable grounding, good insulation, and a constant sense of safety awareness are essential for safe testing.
