Standard and test procedure for Tan Delta values

The dielectric loss value, also known as tan delta, is the residual Angle of the Angle between the current phasor and the voltage phasor flowing through the insulating material under the action of an electric field, which is commonly used to measure the internal energy loss of the insulating material.

Dielectric loss test process:

(1) Connect one end of the grounding wire to the grounding column of the instrument and the other end to the reliable earth to ensure that the instrument housing is on the ground potential.

(2) During the positive wiring: Insert the high-voltage cable plug into the rear door HV socket, clamp the other end of the large red pliers to the high-end lead of the tested product, the small black pliers suspended or clamped on the red pliers, insert the CX low-voltage cable into the CX socket, the other end of the red clip clip the low end of the test product, the black clip suspended or connected to the shielding device.

(3) Reverse wiring: Insert the high-voltage cable plug into the rear door HV socket, clamp the other end of the large red pliers to the high-end lead of the tested product, the small red pliers suspended or connected to the shielding device, Cx socket does not need.

(4) The test method is selected according to the test situation, after the wiring is completed, the power switch of the tester can be turned on, and the test frequency can be set in the parameters. If there is no electromagnetic influence, it is recommended to use a fixed frequency test, and the advantage is that the efficiency is relatively higher.
