Technical Principle
GIS ultrasonic partial discharge detection technology is a non-contact detection method. It detects the harmonic waves generated by partial discharge within the high-voltage equipment to determine whether there is a partial discharge fault in the electrical equipment. The speed at which sound waves propagate within the electrical equipment is affected by the mechanical properties of the medium, such as elastic modulus and density. These performance characteristics change with the type and state of the medium. By measuring and analyzing the changes in the speed of sound wave propagation within the electrical equipment, the location and energy level of the partial discharge within the equipment can be determined.
Specifically, the ultrasonic partial discharge detection system consists of a sound source and a receiver. The sound source generates a group of sound wave pulses, which are excited by the discharge current generated by partial discharge and travel along copper foil, ball grid, etc. of the equipment to the receiver. The receiver amplifies and filters the received signal, obtains the sound wave signal emitted by the partial discharge source, and calculates the propagation time, propagation distance, and direction of the sound wave propagation path. With this information, the location and energy level of the partial discharge source can be determined, completing the partial discharge detection.
Technical features
The GIS ultrasonic partial discharge detection technology has the following characteristics:
1. High accuracy
The ultrasonic partial discharge detection technology can detect very small partial discharge signals with high accuracy. Since this technology usually uses high-resolution receivers to collect acoustic wave signals, it can detect very small electrical fault signals.
2. High reliability
The detection process of ultrasonic partial discharge detection technology does not cause any interference to electrical appliances, thus avoiding misinterpretation. Moreover, due to the non-contact nature of the detection, the detection system does not come into direct contact with high-voltage equipment, eliminating the risk of electrical hazards. Additionally, this technology can be used for detection under a wide range of operating temperature and humidity conditions.
3. Wide range of application fields
Ultrasonic partial discharge detection technology can be used to detect partial discharge faults in various high-voltage equipment. For example, GIS partial discharge detection, insulation performance testing of circuit breakers and transformers, etc. Moreover, due to its strong compatibility, it can be combined with other monitoring instruments to achieve more comprehensive detection.
4. Fast data processing speed
The ultrasonic partial discharge detection technology is almost instantaneous in response and has extremely fast data processing speed. Thus, it enables more timely acquisition of detection results and fault diagnosis, thereby enhancing maintenance efficiency.
