What should I do if the insulating oil level is too high?

Insulating oil (also known as transformer oil) is a special kind of insulating oil that can ensure the normal operation of the transformer. When the transformer is running, under normal circumstances, the oil level of the transformer changes with the change of the transformer oil temperature. When checking the oil level, pay attention to whether it is a fake oil level.

When the oil level of the transformer is higher than the higher oil level line, different methods should be used to deal with it according to the cause.

If it is caused by overload, the load should be reduced; if the three-phase current is seriously unbalanced and the current of a certain phase exceeds the rated value, the load should be adjusted to achieve a basic balance.
If the abnormality of the cooler causes the temperature of the transformer oil to rise, the oil is heated and expands, causing the oil level to rise, check whether the cooler is blocked by dust accumulation, whether the upper and lower valves of the oil pipe are opened, whether the fan and submersible pump are operating normally, and whether the temperature of the cooling medium is normal. If the oil level is too high, it is caused by too much oiling of the transformer, and the oil should be drained to an appropriate height.
If necessary, consider using an insulating oil dielectric strength tester to test the transformer oil.
