General Information

In High Voltage Distribution Network, it usually cause the faults of flashover, grounding or porcelain explosion because of insulators degradation. So it is important to detect and eliminate the faults of insulators, to ensure safe running of transmission and distribution line.

GD-610B Insulator Faults Detector is used to locate insulator faults in power plants and substation transmission lines under uninterrupted power state. It can also be used in partial discharge detection of electrical equipment, corona discharge detection, high voltage switch discharge detection and so on.

Work Principle

When the insulators in power plants and substations occurs flashover failure due to deterioration, will generate a kind of high frequency ultrasound, this high frequency ultrasound can not be heard by human ears.

The wave collector of GD-610B will receive and amplify the sound, input it to the host, using a unique micro-computer processing method, shaping, amplifying and processing this weak signal. After that, it is converted into audio signal, so that users can hear these sounds through headphones, and see the intensity indication of the sound on the LCD to judge the deterioration degree of the insulator. The instrument has strong directivity (laser locking sound source, detecting the specific location of deteriorated insulators), providing technical support for condition-based maintenance, improving work efficiency, and achieving the ultimate purpose of instrument fault detection.
